Job Summary: 
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Analyst / Data Scientist to drive the optimization of our app’s monetization and user acquisition strategies. The ideal candidate will be responsible owning our strategic user acquisition plan to maximize revenue through strategic ad placements (banner and interstitial), optimizing user acquisition campaigns, and managing cost accounting to ensure ROI is maximized. You will work closely with the product, marketing, and finance teams to provide insights that inform our growth strategy and user engagement, ensuring both the business objectives and user experience are achieved. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monetization Optimization: 
    • Create, analyze, test, and optimize ad placements, including banner and interstitial ads, to maximize revenue without compromising user experience. 
    • Conduct A/B tests to determine the effectiveness of different ad placements, formats, and frequencies. 
    • Develop metrics to measure ad performance and recommend strategies to increase ad click-through rates (CTR) and effective CPMs. 
    • Paywall Optimization
  • User Acquisition Optimization: 
    • Monitor and analyze user acquisition campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, paid search, and app store optimization (ASO). 
    • Develop user segmentation models to identify high-value users and tailor acquisition strategies accordingly. 
    • Track campaign performance and calculate customer acquisition costs (CAC) to optimize spend and improve cost efficiency. 
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure alignment between campaign goals and acquisition strategies. 
  • Cost Accounting and ROI Analysis: 
    • Conduct cost accounting to analyze the profitability of various acquisition channels, ad formats, and campaigns. 
    • Track and report on lifetime value (LTV) metrics, revenue per user (ARPU), and other financial KPIs to inform decision-making. 
    • Develop dashboards and reports to provide visibility into revenue and cost metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making. 
  • Data Analysis and Insights: 
    • Analyze user behavior and engagement data to identify trends and opportunities for growth. 
    • Generate insights to inform product and marketing teams, including churn analysis, retention rates, and in-app purchase patterns. 
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Marketing Analytics, or a related field. 

  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, ideally within a mobile app, digital marketing, or ad-tech environment. 

  • Strong knowledge of data analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, or equivalent. 

  • Proficiency in product analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, PostHog, etc). 

  • Experience working with Mobile Measurement Providers (Appsflyer, Adjust, etc). 

  • Experience with A/B testing and multivariate testing frameworks. 

  • Experience working with mobile ad networks.

  • Strong quantitative skills and an ability to perform complex data analysis. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations. 

  • Experience in cost accounting and financial modeling. 

  • Familiarity with user acquisition and ad monetization within the mobile industry. 

  • Knowledge of machine learning or predictive analytics is a plus.
